My Favourite Autumn Reads

Lies We Tell Ourselves by Robin Talley - Review

Bild via: http://www.robintalley.com/lies-we-tell-ourselves-2/
“Sarah's right. We punish ourselves so much in our own imaginations. We convince ourselves everything we do, everything we think, is wrong. For eighteen years I've believed what other people told me about what was right and what was wrong. From now. I'm deciding.” - Robin Talley

The Girl Who Smiled Beads by Clemantine Wamariya - Review♡

“It's strange, how you go from being a person who is away from home to a person with no home at all. The place that is supposed to want you has pushed you out. No other place takes you in. You are unwanted, by everyone. You are a refugee.” – Clemantine Wamariya

Little & Lion by Brandy Colbert - Review♡

“Lionel said as much to me once, how so many of the same people who are quick to empathize with physical disabilities don't understand why someone with depression can't just get up and get on with their day like the rest of the world. It's like they need a receipt that proves someone is actually going through some shit before they care about them.” - Brandy Colbert♡

Dumplin` by Julie Murphy - Review♡

“I think maybe it’s the things we don’t want to talk about that are the things people most want to hear.” - Julie Murphy♡

- Estelle Maskame♡

Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone - Review♡

"I didn’t go there looking for you. I went looking for me.” My voice is soft, low, and shaky. “But now, here you are, and somehow, in finding you, I think I’ve found myself." - Tamara Ireland Stone♡

They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera - Review♡

"I've spent years living safely to secure a longer life, and look where that's gotten me. I'm at the finish line but I never ran the race." - Adam Silvera♡

Bis ans Ende der Geschichte von Jodi Picoult - Review♡

Hello Sunshine von Laura Dave - Review♡

“Did it every occur to you that if you weren't living in fear of other people's opinions of you, no one would have the power to take anything away?” - Laura Dave

Every Day by David Levithan - Review♡

“If there's one thing I've learned, it's this: We all want everything to be okay. We don't even wish so much for fantastic or marvelous or outstanding. We will happily settle for okay, because most of the time, okay is enough.” - David Levithan♡

Mörder Anders und seine Freunde nebst dem einen oder anderen Feind von Jonas Jonasson - Review♡

“The priest and the receptionist joyfully and contentedly shared their genuine dislike of the world, including the entirety of the Earth's population. The burden was now only half as great, since each of them could take on three and a half billion people rather than seven billion alone.” - Jonas Jonasson♡

The Hate U Give von Angie Thomas - Review♡

“That's the problem. We let people say stuff, and they say it so much that it becomes okay to them and normal for us. What's the point of having a voice if you're gonna be silent in those moments you shouldn't be?” - Angie Thomas♡

Mein Leben oder ein Haufen unvollkommener Momente von Peter Bognanni - Review♡

“What I mean is that nothing ever happens the way it’s supposed to. Everything is messed up. Everything is flawed. And if we didn’t have imperfection, I’m not sure what we would have left.” - Peter Bognanni

Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green & David Levithan - Review♡

“When things break, it's not the actual breaking that prevents them from getting back together again. It's because a little piece gets lost - the two remaining ends couldn't fit together even if they wanted to. The whole shape has changed.” - John Green♡
